Urban Areas In Cuttack District Report Most COVID-19 Cases’ :

 

Bhubaneswar: More number of people from urban areas in Cuttack district contracted deadly COVID-19 as compared to the rural areas. This was informed by Cuttack District Collector Bhabani Shankar Chayani today during a briefing at Gita Govind Sadan in Bhubaneswar. He further stated 53.1% people from urban Cuttack were infected with the deadly virus whereas around 46.9% from rural areas of the district have so far contracted COVID-19.

A total of 1364 COVID-19 cases were detected in rural areas whereas 1,546 persons in urban areas of the district tested positive for the virus in urban areas, he added. The number of active cases in rural and urban areas of the district stand at 216  and 773 respectively.

The maximum number of Covid cases have been detected from rural areas of Narasinghpur, Badamba and Athagada blocks in the district. Similarly, some areas of Malgodown area reported the maximum number of cases, he added.

A total of 301 Covid warriors in the district tested positive for the virus, he added.

While recovery rate in the district is at 66.03%, fatality rate so far stands at 0.01%.
